SEC conference leaders discuss resolution regarding LSU roster expansion dispute

SEC presidents and chancellors held a videoconference Thursday to address conference expectations following a dispute involving LSU and the recruitment of former NFL players. The meeting occurred one day after a court hearing was continued in a legal case brought by the conference against LSU and coach Lane Kiffin. LSU previously pursued former Ole Miss players Zxavian Harris and Dae’Quan Wright, who were released from NFL contracts. Although a Louisiana judge ruled the players were eligible for an extra year of college football, LSU filled its final roster spots Tuesday and opted not to sign them. The SEC stated it is working toward an appropriate resolution regarding the matter.
