The Southeastern Conference (SEC) is ranked second among college football's FBS conferences ahead of the 2026 season, following the Big Ten. The SEC has an average ranking of 23.5 in CBS Sports' analysis and includes four teams in the top 10. Despite this ranking, the SEC has the second-worst postseason record among FBS conferences over the past two years, going 10-15. The conference has produced a record 87 NFL draft picks in 2026 and won 95 of 131 non-conference matchups since 2024. Nine SEC teams are in the preseason Coaches Poll, and the league hopes to end its national title drought this season.
