Section 2 athletes shine at Grout Invitational and soccer matches

Athletes from Section 2 showcased their talents during the recent week, particularly at the Grout Invitational held on October 3, 2026. Notable performances included Cainen Aceto from Schenectady finishing second in the Division II boys' race with a time of 14:22 and Madelyn Fowles of Colonie taking first place in the girls' race with a time of 16:51.6. In girls' soccer, Olivia Bennett of Bolton/Warrensburg scored five goals in a 9-1 victory against Hadley-Luzerne. Additional standout performances included Gianna Pitts of Mechanicville, who scored four goals in an 8-0 win against Hoosick Falls, and Aaliyah Hotaling of Voorheesville leading her team in an 11-0 victory over Troy. The week also featured competitive volleyball matches across various schools.
