Serena and Venus Williams earn wild card for doubles at 2026 US Open

Serena and Venus Williams have received a last-minute wild card to compete in the women's doubles at the 2026 US Open. The sisters, who are returning to doubles for the first time since 2022, had originally planned to participate at Wimbledon but withdrew due to a knee injury sustained by Serena during her singles match. The United States Tennis Association confirmed their entry on August 26. The Williams sisters have previously won the US Open women's doubles title twice, in 1999 and 2009. Their last doubles match together was at the 2026 Cincinnati Open on August 17, where they lost in the first round.
