Serena and Venus Williams reunite for doubles match at U.S. Open

Serena Williams and Venus Williams will return to the court as a doubles team this Friday at the U.S. Open in New York. The sisters are scheduled to compete in the night session at Arthur Ashe Stadium against Maya Joint and Chan Hao-Ching. This appearance follows a request from Serena’s nine-year-old daughter, Olympia. The duo last played together at Flushing Meadows in 2022. While Serena previously announced an evolution away from professional tennis, she stated she intends to continue playing doubles and potentially singles in the future to show her children the importance of hard work and dedication. The sisters have won two U.S. Open doubles titles together, with their first victory at the tournament occurring in 1999.
