Sergi Roberto makes his LA Galaxy debut in loss to San Diego FC

Sergi Roberto made his Major League Soccer debut for the LA Galaxy on August 30, three weeks after signing a two-year contract with the club. The 34-year-old former Barcelona player entered the match as a second-half substitute, replacing Maya Yoshida with 30 minutes remaining in the contest. Despite the LA Galaxy playing against 10 men for a portion of the match, the team failed to score during his appearance, resulting in a 3-1 defeat to San Diego FC. Roberto joins a squad that includes fellow veterans Marco Reus and Hirving Lozano, as the club looks to integrate its new high-profile acquisitions. Roberto previously spent two seasons with the Italian club Como following an 18-year tenure at Barcelona, where he secured multiple La Liga and Champions League titles.
