Sergio Garcia aims for 2027 Ryder Cup spot after LIV Golf exit

Sergio Garcia is pushing to join the 2027 Ryder Cup team at Adare Manor after resolving legal issues with LIV Golf. The Spanish golfer announced his intentions during the Open de España in Madrid, expressing hope to contribute as a player or in another capacity. His push follows significant changes within LIV Golf, which has undergone financial restructuring and is in the process of releasing players from contracts. Garcia noted his conversations with European Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald about possible roles on the team. Meanwhile, fellow Spaniard Jon Rahm has departed from LIV Golf, raising questions about the league's appeal for players moving forward. Garcia's next steps involve competing at the current Open de España, where his performance may influence selection for the Ryder Cup.
