Seven Tar Heel athletes compete at NCAA Track & Field championships

Seven athletes from the North Carolina Tar Heels participated in the NCAA Track & Field Championships held in Eugene, Oregon. Notable performances included Makayla Paige, who finished fourth in the 800 meters with a personal best of 1:58.30, and Sydney Masciarelli, who placed ninth in the women’s 3000 meter steeplechase, earning an All-American designation. Vera Sjoberg and Brynn Brown competed in the women's 5000 meters, finishing 14th and 16th, respectively. In field events, Kosi Umerah and Spencer Young placed 24th in the hammer throw and javelin events. The men's team did not score points, with Tomer Tarragano finishing 16th in the 10000 meters, also achieving a personal best.
