Shane Flanagan expresses interest in Wests Tigers assistant coaching role

Shane Flanagan has confirmed his interest in the vacant assistant coaching position with the Wests Tigers for 2027. The club recently advertised the role on LinkedIn, receiving over 70 applications as they aim to improve following a disappointing season. Flanagan, who previously coached the St George Illawarra Dragons and Cronulla Sharks, seeks a return to coaching but not in a head coach capacity. He emphasized his desire to contribute to a club and noted the young talent within the Tigers' squad. The ongoing situation regarding Benji Marshall's future as head coach may influence the club's decision.
