Shane van Gisbergen takes pole position for NASCAR debut at Coronado

Shane van Gisbergen secured the fastest time in qualifying for the NASCAR Cup Series debut at Naval Base Coronado. He will start alongside Carson Hocevar on the front row for the Anduril 250 scheduled for Sunday. This event marks the first of two consecutive road-course races, with the series heading to Sonoma next week. The Coronado course, measuring 3.4 miles, is new for NASCAR but has a history of road racing on the island dating back to the Coronado Speed Festival from 1997 to 2016. Following this race, the series will shift focus to eight remaining oval tracks before the regular season concludes at Daytona on August 29.
