Shaq Thompson signs with the Buffalo Bills practice squad for 2026

Linebacker Shaq Thompson has signed with the Buffalo Bills practice squad, marking his return to the organization for his 12th NFL season. The move follows his 2025 campaign with Buffalo, where he appeared in 12 games and recorded 56 tackles, one sack, and six tackles for loss. Originally selected by the Carolina Panthers in the first round of the 2015 NFL draft, Thompson spent his first eight seasons in Carolina before joining the Bills. His tenure in Buffalo includes a postseason appearance in the 2025 AFC Wild Card game, where he intercepted Trevor Lawrence. Thompson, a former Washington Huskies standout, was limited to six starts between 2023 and 2024 due to consecutive season-ending injuries. He is now part of the 17-player practice squad as the team enters the 2026 regular season.
