Shearer warns Newcastle of tough season amid player exits and managerial change

Summary

Alan Shearer cautioned Newcastle United fans to brace for a challenging 2025/26 season following significant player sales and manager Eddie Howe's departure. Newcastle has lost key players, including Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali, while Bruno Guimaraes seeks to join Arsenal. Shearer expressed concern over the club's strategy of selling top talent, emphasizing that it's unrealistic to expect contention in the Premier League under such circumstances. The managerial shift, with 38-year-old Matthias Jaissle set to replace Howe, adds to the instability as the new season approaches in three weeks.
