Sheffield Hallam University adds football training to degree program

Sheffield Hallam University is set to launch a new program in the autumn, allowing students to pursue a degree while training as professional footballers. In partnership with the Inspire Development Academy, the initiative will offer 60 spots for students in 2027 and 2028. The program aims to prepare student-athletes for careers in sport, featuring training led by UEFA-licensed coaches. Both UK and international students can apply, with a focus on those aspiring to excel in football and academics. Graduates have gone on to play for various clubs, including Haverfordwest County in the Welsh Premier League.
