Sheffield United finalizes deal with Coventry for Gustavo Hamer's transfer
Summary

Sheffield United has reached an agreement with Coventry City for midfielder Gustavo Hamer, marking the end of his three-year tenure at Bramall Lane. The transfer deal, reportedly worth £6 million plus add-ons, is expected to finalize with a medical on August 9. Hamer's departure comes just ahead of Sheffield United's Championship season opener against Birmingham City, creating a significant void in their attacking options. The club is now looking to strengthen its squad, having made a renewed bid for defender Harry Souttar from Leicester City to bolster their defense in light of this loss.
