Sheffield United sign midfielder Hamza Choudhury on a one-year contract

Sheffield United have completed the signing of midfielder Hamza Choudhury from Leicester City for an undisclosed fee. The 28-year-old moves to the club on a one-year deal following a loan spell at the end of the 2024-25 season. Choudhury spent 11 seasons at Leicester City, where he made 166 appearances and was part of the squad that won the Premier League title in 2016 and the FA Cup in 2021. Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder indicated the signing is intended to provide defensive depth and competition within the squad. Choudhury, a Bangladesh international, previously played under Wilder during a loan stint at Watford. The midfielder transitions to the Blades after spending 20 years within the Leicester City organization.
