Sheffield Wednesday appoints Dave Challinor as manager

Summary

Sheffield Wednesday has confirmed Dave Challinor as their new manager, replacing Henrik Pedersen who was dismissed after just one win in six League One matches. The Owls are currently ninth in the table and are on a three-match winless run, having drawn once and lost twice. Challinor, who previously managed Stockport County, will watch from the stands as interim boss Matt Hamshaw leads the team against Blackpool on Sunday. His appointment comes after a successful stint at Stockport where he secured multiple promotions and reached the League One play-offs twice. Challinor's task will be to turn around the team's fortunes in a challenging League One environment.
