Shelby Ulven earns GLIAC Women's Field Athlete of the Year honor

Shelby Ulven of Grand Valley State University was named GLIAC Women's Field Athlete of the Year for the outdoor track and field season. A Zeeland East graduate, Ulven achieved her fifth All-America accolade at the NCAA DII Outdoor Track and Field Championships, where she placed third in the hammer throw with a distance of 60.71m. Throughout the regular season, Ulven consistently ranked among the top competitors, throwing over 60.00m on two occasions and winning the GLIAC Outdoor Championship in women's hammer with a throw of 56.08m. Her notable performances have solidified her status as one of the top athletes in her discipline leading into the offseason.
