Shemar Stewart participates in position drills during Cincinnati Bengals practice

Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Shemar Stewart practiced in uniform on Sept. 2, participating in team stretches and position drills. The 2025 first-round draft pick had been sidelined since suffering a knee hyperextension on the first day of training camp in July. Bengals head coach Zac Taylor noted on Sept. 1 that Stewart would remain on the rehab field for the current week as the team evaluates his recovery on a week-to-week basis. Stewart was observed moving without a knee brace while performing drills on the field. The defensive end previously appeared in eight games during his 2025 rookie campaign before a separate knee injury forced him onto the Reserve/Injured list in November.
