Shinnie leads Inverness into League Cup clash with Hearts

Summary

Inverness Caledonian Thistle midfielder Graeme Shinnie is preparing for a challenging League Cup last 16 matchup against Hearts on Sunday. Inverness, who finished atop their group, will look to build on their positive start to the season. Shinnie, reflecting on past encounters, emphasizes the need to disrupt Hearts’ rhythm to succeed, recalling a memorable semi-final upset in 2014 despite eventual loss in the final. The Caley Jags aim to attack rather than solely defend, seeking to leverage their early-season momentum during the contest.

What they're saying

"
Inverness Caledonian Thistle midfielder Graeme Shinnie says they need to harness the positivity from the start of their campaign going in to Sunday's Premier Sports Cup last 16 trip to Hearts. The Caley Jags finished top of their group in the competition, one which included Premiership side St Johnstone, who they defeated 1-0. "We are well aware of what they are and what they've got but it's a game for us to try and nullify what they've got as much as we can, and try and knock them off their rhythm," Shinnie said.
