Shrewsbury signs striker Josh Davison on two-year contract

Shrewsbury Town has signed striker Josh Davison on a two-year deal following his release from Tranmere Rovers. Davison, 26, scored seven goals in 67 appearances for Tranmere and had a brief loan spell at Cheltenham Town last season, scoring once in 16 matches. Shrewsbury finished 19th in League Two last season and will open the new season against Salford City in the Carabao Cup on August 8. Manager Gavin Cowan expressed confidence in helping Davison return to scoring form.
