Silverstone hosts round of FIA Karting European Championship in May 2027

The FIA announced that Silverstone will serve as a host venue for the Karting European Championship in 2027. The event is scheduled to take place at the Northamptonshire circuit from 13 to 16 May. This facility recently opened a new karting track that incorporates a specific section of the former Bridge corner used for Formula 1 racing between 1991 and 2009. Motorsport UK representatives noted the event offers an opportunity for young drivers to compete at a prominent site in British motorsport. The championship has previously featured several current Formula 1 drivers, including Lando Norris, George Russell, Alex Albon, and Kimi Antonelli, during their early racing careers. Officials expressed intent to use the event to encourage further participation in karting among local families and youth.
