Simmons traveled to Sacramento on Monday for a series of meetings and evaluations with the Kings organization. The 30-year-old participated in an on-court workout and completed comprehensive medical examinations. He also held discussions with head coach Doug Christie and other team staff members. These activities follow a previous workout in late August conducted for general manager Scott Perry, which included a one-hour meeting between the two. Simmons recently participated in a players-only minicamp with Team Australia last month. Officials from both the Kings and Team Australia report that the player has performed well and appears to be in strong health.
