Six rookies earn spots on the Detroit Lions initial 53-man roster

The Detroit Lions finalized their initial 53-man roster on Sunday, retaining six rookies from the 2026 draft class and undrafted pool. First-round selection Blake Miller leads the group and is positioned to start at right tackle, filling a vacancy on the offensive line. Second-round pass rusher Derrick Moore also secured a spot after a productive preseason performance, joining a defensive front that includes Aidan Hutchinson and D.J. Wonnum. Linebacker Jimmy Rolder made the cut despite missing most of training camp due to a hamstring injury. Other rookies including Keith Abney II, Skyler Gill-Howard, and Eric O’Neill also remain with the active team. Two other draft picks, Kendrick Law and Tyre West, did not make the final active roster.
