Smokies top Barons while Pelicans and River Bandits secure wins

On June 25, the Knoxville Smokies defeated the Birmingham Barons 5-1. Pitcher Dawson Netz held the Barons scoreless for six innings. The Smokies were supported by Owen Ayers' 20th home run and a homer from Ed Howard. Meanwhile, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans edged the Salem RidgeYaks 5-4, with Alexis Hernández providing a crucial 9th-inning double. In contrast, the Iowa Cubs suffered a heavy loss to the Buffalo Bison, 15-1, managing only six hits. The South Bend Cubs were also defeated, 8-1, by the Quad Cities River Bandits. Both teams struggled offensively throughout their games.
