Sol Ruca loses Intercontinental title; Trick Williams and Giulia face setbacks

Some places do power rankings. Here at Cageside, we do a stock report. In this weekly series, we identify three Superstars (or groups of Superstars) who are on their way up, and three that are moving in the opposite direction. After a busy week that included SummerSlam 2026, a lot of fortunes were changed. With that in mind, let’s see whose stock decreased the most this week: Stock Down #3: Trick Williams Just a few weeks after unveiling a new furry custom title, Trick actually lost the United States championship to Baron Corbin at SummerSlam. Since returning to WWE, Corbin has shown that he is still very tall. I guess that factor was just too much for Williams to overcome. Even if there is some grand plan here for Trick to drop the belt before moving on to better things at Money in the Bank in October, WWE could have added some extra bodies to the match like Carmelo Hayes or Ricky Saints to take the fall for Trick to lose his belt. But they didn’t do that, and now Trick looks a little more like a mediocre mid-card guy for losing his title to the ultimate mediocre mid-card heel in WWE. Stock Down #2: Giulia Giulia was damn near squashed by Lash Legend in a very quick match on SmackDown, which cost her a spot in the interim women’s championship ladder match at SummerSlam. It was a pretty effective way for WWE to tell the audience that Giulia sucks and doesn’t belong anywhere near the championship scene. Stock Down #1: Sol Ruca Ruca’s reign as Intercontinental champion came to an unremarkable end on Raw when she dropped the belt to Raquel Rodriguez. It’s not that hard to see why WWE put the belt on Raquel or took it off of Sol, seeing how badly Ruca’s main roster has gone so far. She struggled right out of the gate with multiple botches of her Sol Snatcher finisher, and she wasn’t over with the fans when WWE decided to have her beat Becky Lynch for the title in May. They never should have put the belt on Ruca in the first place if it was going to go like this, because now she looks like a very weak former champion who was in over her head holding the title. It feels like Sol needs to go back to the drawing board and start all over again figuring out how to be a big star in WWE. Now let’s see whose stock increased the most this week: Stock Up #3: Chelsea Green Chelsea Green proved that Michael Hayes doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about when she climbed a ladder at SummerSlam to become the first ever interim WWE women’s champion. The women’s title scene on SmackDown has struggled to stand out all year long, but that shouldn’t be a problem anymore now that the super charismatic Green finally gets a world title run. Stock Up #2: Oba Femi Oba Femi kicked Brock Lesnar’a ass again at SummerSlam, this time inside Hell in a Cell. The Ruler’s win was magnified due to being placed in the Saturday main event spot over WWE Champion CM Punk versus Cody Rhodes. It was also boosted by Brock’s post-match endorsement of Oba as the future of WWE. It’s pretty clear at this point that Oba is in line to become the face of WWE whenever they are ready to pull the trigger on booking him in a feud against World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns. Stock Up #1: Kevin Owens SummerSlam Sunday kicked off with the biggest surprise of the weekend when Kevin Owens made his surprise return to WWE to take the number one contender spot away from Finn Balor, Sami Zayn, and GUNTHER. KO was out of action for nearly 1.5 years due to major neck surgery, and it wasn’t clear if he would ever wrestle again. But not only he is back in a WWE ring, he’s already getting pushed right into a main event level story chasing CM Punk’s WWE championship. Owens isn’t exactly the biggest fan of Punk, so the promos that we’re about to hear should be pretty damn great. There you have it, Cagesiders. Whose stock do you think changed the most this week?
