Sonny Gray makes All-Star case after Ranger Suarez lands on IL

Sonny Gray has emerged as a frontrunner for an All-Star selection following Ranger Suarez's placement on the injured list. Suarez, who was set to join Gray's Boston Red Sox teammates Willson Contreras and Aroldis Chapman at the All-Star Game, now opens a spot for Gray, who has excelled this season. From late April, Gray has posted a 10-1 record with a 2.61 ERA. The MLB has yet to announce an official replacement for Suarez, but Gray is viewed as the top candidate. Expectations are high for the league to rectify Gray's previous snub and include him in the All-Star festivities soon.
