Sooners secure commitment from 3-star RB Jakoby Dixon for 2027 class

The Oklahoma Sooners added running back Jakoby Dixon to their 2027 recruiting class on May 31, 2026. Dixon, a 5-foot-10, 200-pound prospect from Brenham High School in Texas, chose Oklahoma over several major programs including Oregon, Texas, and Ohio State. This marks the Sooners' second running back commitment in this cycle, joining fellow Texan Keldrid Ben. Dixon, who was his district's MVP for two consecutive seasons, ran for over 2,200 yards and scored 32 touchdowns as a sophomore. His commitment follows an official visit to Norman and represents a key addition for new running backs coach Deland McCullough.
