Sophie Cunningham endorses comparison of Caitlin Clark to three basketball legends

Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham has validated a comparison between teammate Caitlin Clark and NBA greats Michael Jordan, Steph Curry, and Larry Bird. Discussing the player's profile with Colin Cowherd, Cunningham agreed with the assessment that Clark mirrors Jordan’s rapid professional ascension, Curry’s playing style, and Bird’s personality. Cunningham noted that while the trio serves as a conceptual framework, Clark maintains a distinct identity both on and off the court. Now in her 2026 season, Clark is averaging 22.5 points per game and shooting 45.6 percent from the field, both career-high figures. Cunningham specifically highlighted the guard's improved body control and efficiency as key drivers behind her high performance. With the Indiana Fever holding a 26-14 record, the team has secured a playoff spot and prepares for an upcoming postseason campaign.
