South Bend Tribune opens voting for weekly high school football player award

The South Bend Tribune is accepting public votes for its Sept. 4 high school football player of the week through 5 p.m. ET on Sept. 10. Nine student-athletes were selected as nominees following their performances in recent area games. Logan Moser of Bremen scored five touchdowns in a 52-7 victory, while Jake Scholl of Northridge recorded 292 yards and five scores in a 55-10 conference win. Other nominees include Brody Reed of Buchanan, JJ Lee of Concord, Giovanni Orue of Edwardsburg, Landon Snyder of Mishawaka, Buddy Hurley of Penn, Carson Bryce of South Bend Adams, and David Waite of South Bend Saint Joseph. Each athlete was nominated following notable individual statistical contributions to their respective teams' recent results. Supporters may cast unlimited votes by refreshing the web page after each submission until the polling period closes next Thursday.
