South Carolina State holds 2-0 record after defeating Florida A&M

The South Carolina State Bulldogs improved to 2-0 following a 31-13 victory over Florida A&M in the Orange Blossom Classic held in Miami. The Bulldogs defense limited the Rattlers to negative rushing yards and held them to 4-for-17 on third-down conversions. Offensively, running back Mason Pickett-Hicks totaled 210 rushing yards on 17 carries, including two touchdowns, earning him MEAC Offensive Player of the Week honors. Junior defensive lineman Jordan Dollard was also recognized as the conference defensive player of the week after recording 4.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. South Carolina State previously defeated Savannah State 87-0 to open the season and now prepares for an out-of-conference matchup against Furman on September 19.
