South Carolina women's basketball to play first outdoor game in history

South Carolina women's basketball will play in an outdoor preseason game for the first time on Sunday, Sept. 27, at Credit One Stadium in Charleston. The Gamecocks, coached by Dawn Staley, will face the College of Charleston as part of the LinkU Invitational exhibition showcase. This event also features two men's games beforehand, showcasing Virginia against Vanderbilt and The Citadel facing College of Charleston. Staley emphasized the importance of engaging with groups dedicated to women's basketball development and expressed enthusiasm about the unique venue. The full non-conference schedule for the team is still forthcoming, with a season opener in Paris against Maryland set for Nov. 2.
