South Dakota women’s soccer defeated Drake 2-0 on Sunday at the First Bank & Trust Soccer Complex in Vermillion, South Dakota. The victory served as the final home match for the Coyotes during their non-conference schedule and marked a successful Senior Day celebration for Kiah Pieters and Brooke Conway. Klarissa Vega opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, assisted by Kinsley Pesicka and Taylor Mulligan. Freshman Brooklynn Pollmiller added a second goal in the 56th minute to secure the lead. Goalkeeper Cambell Fischer anchored the defensive effort with five saves to complete the shutout against the Missouri Valley Conference preseason favorites. The Coyotes now prepare for their conference season opener against South Dakota State on September 24th.
