South Jersey high school football teams prepare for Week 1 matchups

High school football teams across South Jersey enter Week 1 of the 2026 season following a series of opening games. Several programs, including Moorestown, Eastern, and Williamstown, secured victories in their first outings of the year. Other squads look to recover from early losses as they move into Thursday and Friday night schedules. Teams like Cherokee and Haddonfield aim to build on 1-0 records, while others such as Cinnaminson and Burlington Township seek their first win of the campaign. Various venues are hosting games throughout the Labor Day weekend, including a shift for Burlington Township, which will play home games at Wilbur Watts Middle School. Coaches and players continue to refine strategies following performance data from the initial week of play.
