Junior staff members disclosed pressure from head coach Tonda Eckert to engage in morally questionable spying activities, which led to the club’s expulsion from the play-offs and a four-point deduction for next season. Southampton admitted to spying on Oxford United, Ipswich Town, and Middlesbrough, and a disciplinary commission described the club's actions as part of a coordinated effort approved by management.
