Southampton striker Cyle Larin receives Championship player of the month award

Southampton striker Cyle Larin has been named the Championship player of the month for August. The 31-year-old Canada international recorded four league goals during the month to help Southampton secure six points from a possible nine. In addition to his league performance, Larin scored against Colchester United during a 2-0 Carabao Cup victory. Larin initially joined Southampton on a loan spell last season, during which he netted eight goals in 16 appearances. The club signed him to a permanent contract this past June after his productive stint. The award recognizes his ongoing impact on the team as the new campaign progresses.
