Southend signs midfielders Darren Oldaker and Anthony Hartigan

Southend United has completed the signings of midfielders Darren Oldaker and Anthony Hartigan as they prepare for the upcoming season. Oldaker, formerly of Swindon Town, captained Chesterfield to the National League title in the 2023-2024 season, while Hartigan joins after his contract with Barnet expired. Southend finished sixth in the National League last season and lost in the playoff eliminator. They will be managed by Kieron Dyer, who was appointed earlier this month.
