Southern Miss baseball adds Cade Baker from Toledo via transfer portal

Southern Miss baseball has secured Toledo outfielder Cade Baker, marking the team's third addition from the transfer portal this offseason. Baker, who entered the portal on May 26, recorded a.312 batting average with 49 RBIs and eight home runs during his season at Toledo. He also demonstrated speed on the basepaths, stealing 18 bases on 21 attempts. Baker joins Cannon Peery and Drew Harrison in Southern Miss's transfer class, filling the void left by Ben Higdon, who has exhausted his eligibility. Four Southern Miss players announced their intent to transfer following the season.
