Spanish authorities cancel DR Congo v Chile friendly over Ebola concerns

The friendly match between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Chile, scheduled for June 9, has been canceled by the mayor of La Línea de la Concepción in southern Spain due to health concerns stemming from an Ebola outbreak in the DR Congo. Mayor Juan Franco announced the cancellation in light of the situation in the African nation, where the outbreak was reported last month. DR Congo had been preparing for the World Cup and was based in Belgium prior to the cancellation. Their match against Chile was intended as part of their pre-tournament schedule.
