Spartanburgers fall 4-0 to Hot Rods in series finale

The Hub City Spartanburgers were shut out by the Bowling Green Hot Rods, 4-0, on Sunday at Fifth Third Park. Bowling Green starter Jacob Kisting pitched a near-perfect game, preventing the Spartanburgers from a baserunner for the first five innings. Carlos Colmenarez opened the scoring with a home run in the second, followed by additional runs that left Hub City facing a 4-0 deficit. Despite loading the bases in the ninth inning, the Spartanburgers could not score. The team will now have four days off for the All-Star Break before returning to host the Greensboro Grasshoppers for a three-game series starting Friday.
