Spencer Leniu nears Parramatta Eels move as Roosters recruit Braden Uele

Sydney Roosters forward Spencer Leniu is set to join the Parramatta Eels following the conclusion of the current NRL finals campaign. The Roosters have reportedly secured a one-year deal with Cronulla Sharks free agent Braden Uele to fill the roster vacancy left by Leniu. This shift occurs as the Roosters prepare for a qualifying match against the Penrith Panthers at CommBank Stadium. Parramatta has been actively rebuilding its squad for next season, also signing Jarome Luai and Jaydn Su'A to bolster their lineup. Leniu has appeared in 20 matches for the Roosters this season, maintaining a 93.7% tackle efficiency before his planned departure. The club is undergoing several personnel changes, with Angus Crichton and Mark Nawaqanitawase also departing for rugby union.
