Sporting Kansas City acquire forward Seymour Reid on loan from New York City FC

Sporting Kansas City acquired 18-year-old forward Seymour Reid on loan from New York City FC on Thursday. The agreement keeps the Jamaican youth international with the club through the 2027 MLS Sprint Season. New York City FC receives up to $125,000 in General Allocation Money, with $75,000 guaranteed and an additional $50,000 conditional. Reid signed a homegrown deal with NYCFC in 2025 and has made 29 first-team appearances with one goal and one assist. He also recorded 15 goals and two assists while playing for the club's MLS NEXT Pro affiliate, New York City FC II. Sporting KC president of soccer operations David Lee indicated the move is intended to add depth and new tactical characteristics to the front line for the remainder of the current campaign.
