The San Antonio Spurs have hired Hall of Fame coach Billy Donovan as the lead assistant for head coach Mitch Johnson, following a successful 2025–26 season. Donovan replaces Sean Sweeney, who left to become head coach of the Orlando Magic. This move adds significant experience to the Spurs' coaching staff, as Donovan brings over 30 years in coaching, including time as a head coach in the NBA with the Oklahoma City Thunder and Chicago Bulls.
