St. Joseph football coach Augie Hoffmann has been suspended for the first two games of the 2026 season due to violations of school policies related to offseason training. Hoffmann will accompany the team during their opening game in Chicago on August 28 but is prohibited from being on the field. Offensive line coach Zach Naszimento will act as interim head coach for the games against Mount Carmel and Creekside. Hoffmann previously faced a similar suspension in 2018 following an incident involving a postgame fight. He led St. Joseph to a state title in 2025 before being rehired in December 2023.
