The St. Louis Cardinals registered a 13-8 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday at Dodger Stadium. The Cardinals offense powered the win by outhomering the home team five to zero, including two home runs from Thomas Saggese. Ramón Urías, Jordan Walker, and Joshua Baez also contributed home runs to the effort. Los Angeles starter Eric Lauer struggled during his three innings of work, surrendering seven runs on eight hits before being replaced. Despite a bases-clearing fly ball from Mookie Betts in the third inning and late offensive attempts by Will Smith, the Dodgers remained unable to overcome the early deficit. Cardinals pitcher Michael McGreevy earned the win, pitching five innings while allowing four runs. The teams meet again in Los Angeles for the second game of the series, where Yoshinobu Yamamoto is scheduled to start for the Dodgers.
