St Mirren retain Craig McLeish after playoff survival

St Mirren have confirmed that Craig McLeish will continue as head coach after the club secured their Scottish Premiership status through the play-offs. McLeish took over on a temporary basis earlier in the season and managed to navigate the team to a 2-1 victory in the play-off final against Partick Thistle, with Marcus Fraser scoring the decisive goal in the second leg. Under McLeish, St Mirren finished second bottom in the league but avoided relegation. He has signed a three-year contract, with Stuart Taylor expected to join as his assistant. The club, which returned to the top flight in 2018, was previously led by Stephen Robinson, who left the club while they were placed 10th in the table.
