STA softball loses in Division III semis, PCA advances to title game

The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team lost 1-0 to Gilford in a Division III semifinal on June 11 at Plymouth State University. Sophomore pitcher Hailey Anzmann allowed just one run over six innings, but the Saints could only muster two hits. Gilford will face Prospect Mountain in the championship game. In Division IV, fifth-seeded Portsmouth Christian upset top-seeded Pittsburg/Canaan 3-0 to advance to the final against No. 3 Colebrook on June 13.
