Stan Kroenke agrees to purchase Los Angeles Angels from Arte Moreno

The Los Angeles Angels are changing ownership as Arte Moreno has agreed to sell the franchise to Stan Kroenke. Kroenke Sports & Entertainment announced the deal on Tuesday, finalizing the transition of a team that has not qualified for the postseason in 11 years. Moreno purchased the club from the Walt Disney Company in 2003, becoming the first Mexican-American owner of a major U.S. sports franchise. Kroenke adds the Angels to a portfolio that currently includes the Los Angeles Rams, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, Colorado Rapids, and Arsenal. The Angels organization will miss the playoffs again this year as the sale proceeds.
