Stan Kroenke agrees to purchase the Los Angeles Angels

Real estate magnate Stan Kroenke has reached an agreement to purchase the Los Angeles Angels from Arte Moreno. The transaction, involving a controlling interest in the Anaheim-based franchise, is expected to close early next year subject to approval from Major League Baseball. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed in the official statement. The Angels have not reached the playoffs since 2014 and currently face their 11th consecutive losing season. Moreno, who oversaw the team for 23 years, expressed confidence in the transition to Kroenke Sports & Entertainment. Kroenke, whose portfolio already includes the Los Angeles Rams, Denver Nuggets, and Arsenal, aims to shift the direction of the organization as it navigates a prolonged period of on-field struggle.
