Stanford football will start its 2026 season with Davis Warren, a transfer from Michigan, as its quarterback. Head coach Tavita Pritchard announced Warren's position ahead of the Week 0 matchup against Hawaii on August 29. Warren, who served as a backup for two seasons at Michigan, completed 64.1% of his passes in 2024 but did not play in 2025. The Cardinal seeks to improve after failing to reach a bowl game since 2018. Following the opener, Stanford will face preseason No. 7 Miami on September 4.
