Steelers extend tight end Darnell Washington for four years, $42 million

The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed tight end Darnell Washington to a four-year extension worth $42 million, with $21 million guaranteed. Washington was entering the final year of his rookie contract after being drafted in the third round of 2023. Over three seasons, he has developed into a key player, finishing with career highs in 2025 of 31 receptions and 364 yards while also being recognized for his blocking skills. Washington joins fellow 2023 draft class member Nick Herbig in securing an extension this offseason.
